Spicy Turkish Caffè

Star anise is the fruit of a small evergreen tree native to China. It can be used as a flavoring or used as a ground spice (aniseed).

8oz of Melitta Classic coffee

1 teaspoon sugar

1 tablespoon chocolate syrup

1/8 teaspoon ground aniseed

3 whole cloves

1 cinnamon stick

2 tablespoons whipping cream

orange and lemon zest for garnish

Brew a 8-ounce cup of Melitta Classic coffee.


Pour the coffee into a small saucepan and add the sugar, chocolate syrup, aniseed, cloves and cinnamon stick. Heat the coffee over medium heat until it begins to simmer. Strain the hot coffee back into the 12-ounce mug to remove the spices.

Use the Melitta® frother to whip the cream and spoon a dollop on top of the hot coffee. Sprinkle the orange and lemon zest over the cream.
